Canon, Par Excellence Award Northern Lights, mnppa, 2009

So you may have heard Rod Andrew Wilson entered NLPPA or Northern Lights Professional Photographers Association, Photo competition.

They called him on Sunday and asked if He was available to except an award at the Lu out banquet on Tuesday a casual affair this year note the no Tux, just tee shirt and flowers. Long story short He drove up to breezy point and picked up his new award "Canon's par excellence Award" He received a nice pin, glass trophy and a New Canon 5D MarkII camera with a 85mm lens. Thanks goes out to Ed Meyers with canon, what a really nice guy! buy a camera today his email emeyers@cusa.canon.com

Wow! OK so the award is not always given out it has to be earned in a unique way. Most photographers enter 4 prints for competition in hopes of receiving a perfect score of 100 out of 100 for each print. Most prints score well into the 70's, hey were professionals. To receive this award all 4 prints must score above 80. Three individuals qualified for the award out of nearly a 100 entries from the three states. North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota being the three states in Northern Lights.

The winner is not always the highest print case total. The judges choose just one lucky person they feel as met the requirements of excellence. We have the video, not the greatest quality but pretty fun to watch.

Thanks to everyone for supporting Rod Andrew Wilson through the years!

Rod is very happy to be the 2009 winner of the Canon, Par Excellence Award Northern Lights, mnppa. He says "he couldn't have done it without the help of TCPPA and the great speakers they have had over the years". This being his first NLPPA competition, He found if fun and exciting. He encourage's everyone to enter at least once in there life time. The next step for Rod will be to enter in the 2009 PPA print competition. He will be awarded A bronze medallion for meriting 4 prints out of 4. If any of his prints make it into the loan collection He may receive a silver or gold.

Anyone at the convention get a better video? Please send it his way rwphoto@earthlink.net or call Rod @ 651.292.9242
Rod is currently Owner and Photographer of Andrews Photography in Saint paul.

Fun E-session, Andrews Photography in Alexandria MN

Cody and katrinas Fun E-session, Andrews Photography in Alexandria MN. We were in Katrinas dad was along to get the dog to look left and right. Way to go Bill couldn't have Alex over the weekend checking out the vineyard "Carlos Creek" for a wedding in August. Wow cant wait for this wedding. Wine barrels, vines, old trees, rolling hills, Beautiful bride and Mr. casual groom. These are just a few of the photos we took during our short stay. Bill, done it without you. When we do site visits we are trying to find out what the grounds or location will give us. When we arrive on the wedding day well determine if plan A is the way to go or do we modify the locations for family, bridal party, romantics. Was it worth driving 369 miles to see a vineyard, not in bloom. We believe so. A little effort to make the bride and groom comfortable and to see her dream first hand is gold. Plus its always nice to get to know our brides and grooms just a bit better before the big day. See there complete Fun E-Session here password is Codykatrina.

Proposal Maurice and Syreeta, Andrews-Photography

Saint Paul Wedding photographer Rod Andrew Wilson, captured a couple doing something really romantic on valentines day. Maurice had photos taken through Andrews Photography in December for self promotion. He had heard that we do something like the paparazzi. Take great photos of the guy popping the question. Maurice did his homework and it payed off in a big way. Maurice had to reschedule a few times, but finally came up with a day that worked. Valentines day. Maurice had Syreeta's Aunt bring her two boys to the location. This was a good reason for being at a given place and time. On the video you can hear the boys in the background saying there abc's. We had two shooters for this event and Syreeta was a bit surprised about all the coverage. She was really grateful though to find out Maurice took the time to really setup something special. Way to go Maurice, getting on the escalator of love. We did a quick little session of the two of them and they were off for brunch with the family. Guys just a quick note if you plan on proposing on an elevator talk fast and make sure you have your laces are secure.Andrews Photography will be doing more free proposals in 2009 only. If you plan on popping the question to your significant other any time now till December of this year call us first. We have many creative ideas and suggestions on how to get it right. Call Rod Andrew Today 651.292.9242

Congratulations again to you both, Maurice and Syreeta, you both have soo much energy!
