Andrews Photography, Wedding Tip, getting more out of your day what to expect

WEDDING TIP OF THE DAY

Drawing on our 20 years experience in the wedding business as a photographer and wedding planner. We will try and inform you about what a wedding can be like. Think of the wedding day as a three ring circus, mind you a really wonderful three ring circus.

The groom. He is the ring master, this is his time to show the other side of the family that he can run the show keep things together. He doesn't necessarily do anything during the day but delegate, if the need arises. His other job is to be around the bride so the photographer can get those really cool candid photos of him interacting with his love.

The bride. Her only job is to make sure her dress was fitted properly and she's on time. She will be aglow, a site to behold, a goddess, a vision in white, a dream come true. You get the picture. Believe me she will have great photos!

The parents. They just want to reconnect with there families and show off those wonderful kids of theirs. Mom wants the formal photos but she really wants to make sure that the guests are happy and that this wedding was better than cousin Margie's last year, their cousin took the photos and lets just say it wasn't pretty, think, "kid in a lion cage" clean up in the center ring. Father of the bride just wants to get out of this situation without getting a second mortgage.

Weddings are a time of celebration and a coming together of two families, don't spend your time after the ceremony, that's if you can taking the formals. Spend your time after doing something fun with the bridal party or mingling with your guests. If you dont want to see the groom before hand think of doing this instead. Take 15 minutes at the beginning of the day and do a first encounter were the bride walks in to the groom in a private area. It will be close to the same experience as the isle. This gives them the time to connect before the day gets started. Makes for great photojournalist romantics of the bride and groom too. Now a third of your wedding day just became available for fun.

When the popcorn has been eaten and the clowns have stolen away, remember the only lasting memories will be your photos. Invest wisely.

Thank you video from Corey and Carley

Corey and Carley, takes a minute to thank Andrews Photography. It was a perfect day for shooting in Vegas and we had just wrapped up the romantics at the Venetian. Corey thought it would be a good time to do a little video clip while waiting for the cross walk. You can see there complete wedding day photos, there password is CoreyCarleyvegas. Thanks again you two, for booking Andrews Photography to cover your day.

Fun E session Vegas Neon bone yard, Andrews Photography

This couple knows how to live life. If you have been following my blog you will have remembered Corey and Carley. Corey was the one who popped the question during a photo shoot at my studio. Carely opted to wear a black dress while in Vegas at the Neon Museum. The Neon Museum has all the old Vegas signs in a lot north of the down town district. They also fix up some of the signs to there rightfull glory. The lot is nothing but gravel and dust, bring something to drink. You might want to go to the bathroom too before showing up, they don't have any running water. Think backyard lot, add 2 bums and a bit of stink and you got it. Corey and Carley had a blast though. Its nice when you have a couple that has a vision and wants to try fun intimate photos. You can see the entire shoot here password is Vegasneonboneyard. Andrews Photography was there to capture a unique experience for there Vegas trip. We have had numerous couples photographed in Vegas but no one else opted for this location. We think this is one of the most hidden gems in America. Even the Vegas cabs don't know about this place. A tip to Destination weddings in general, hire a photographer that knows you, do the research on the location, and bring him or her along with you. You will get more then you ever imagined.

Proposal Maurice and Syreeta, Andrews-Photography

Saint Paul Wedding photographer Rod Andrew Wilson, captured a couple doing something really romantic on valentines day. Maurice had photos taken through Andrews Photography in December for self promotion. He had heard that we do something like the paparazzi. Take great photos of the guy popping the question. Maurice did his homework and it payed off in a big way. Maurice had to reschedule a few times, but finally came up with a day that worked. Valentines day. Maurice had Syreeta's Aunt bring her two boys to the location. This was a good reason for being at a given place and time. On the video you can hear the boys in the background saying there abc's. We had two shooters for this event and Syreeta was a bit surprised about all the coverage. She was really grateful though to find out Maurice took the time to really setup something special. Way to go Maurice, getting on the escalator of love. We did a quick little session of the two of them and they were off for brunch with the family. Guys just a quick note if you plan on proposing on an elevator talk fast and make sure you have your laces are secure.Andrews Photography will be doing more free proposals in 2009 only. If you plan on popping the question to your significant other any time now till December of this year call us first. We have many creative ideas and suggestions on how to get it right. Congratulations again to you both, Maurice and Syreeta, you both have soo much energy!

Andrews-Photography, wedding albums

Andrews-Photography, Here is one page from Adrienne and Paul's wedding album. You can see the whole layout on my website. She had a fantastic day and the album has a really nice flow to it. What a great first dance if your dj does not have constant light you really will be missing out. The lights that move and strobe don't show up the same in camera. at Andrews Photography we take the time to find out what your day is all about and how to capture something that represents who you are as a couple. Adrienne loved water so I recommended Mears park just around the corner from the great hall in Saint Paul. The park sports a man made river and in Late August at 5:00pm the building across from it lights up from the setting sun. Making one heck of a soft box 1 city block long. Light, photography is all about the light. Brides pick times that will benefit your photos and venue. Keep in mind the worst time to take a photo is outside at noon in July. We can do and do sessions of the bride and groom weeks before the wedding in studio or on location. Think of your wedding day knowing you already have most of the romantics done with the formal long dress shot the dynamic poses in the bag. More time for photo journalistic shots of you and your groom interacting with your family. If we have the time and the bride is willing we do for free the day after wreck the dress session. Have fun in your dress jump in some water, ride a horse, go paint balling, get on a jet ski. Whatever the fun Andrews Photography will be there, As it Happens. Know someone who is getting ready to pop the question? Let them know we capture proposals as they unfold for free in 2009. call Rod Andrew for details, 651.292.9242
